Agriculture plays a significant role in India and about 54.6 per cent of the population is engaged in agriculture and allied activities (Census 2011). The small and marginal holdings constituted 86.21 per cent in 2015–16 while their share in the operated area stood 47.34 per cent in the current Census as against 44.31 per cent in 2010–11(Agriculture Census 2015–16). Government of India has been planning for new institutional options which can bridge the gaps between farmers and consumers. There were seven FPOs in Udaipur district which were supported by NABARD and all these seven Farmer Producer Organizations in Udaipur district were included for the study of constraints faced by the functionaries of FPO.It was found that economic constraints were the major constraints with MPS of 88.01 and rank I followed by marketing constraints (MPS 80.99) which was ranked II.
