Abstract

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tonk has conducted 300 cluster front line demonstrations on chickpea variety CSJ-515 over an area of 120 hectares during rabi season of 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21. The results of the cluster front line demonstrations revealed that on an average seed yield of chickpea under improved technology ranged from 19.23 to 21.76 q/ha with a mean of 20.68 q/ha which was 24.48 percent more yield as compared to local check. Moreover, the seed yield also recorded substantially higher under demonstration (20.68 q/ha) over district average (13.50 q/ha) and state average (10.99 q/ha). Further, findings of the study revealed that from one hectare average additional yield 4.08 q/ha, net monetary return 74085/ha, additional returns 19968/ha, effective gain 18595/ha and benefit: cost ratio 3.76 were obtained under improved technology as compared to farmers practice. The average technology gap (4.31 q/ha), extension gap (4.08q/ha) and technology index (17.26%) were found.
