A study on participation of rural youths in different agricultural activities in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh

Abstract

The present study was carried out in purposively selected Bhanu Pratap Pur block of Kanker district of Chhattisgarh during the year 2019. Atotal of 70 youths respondents were randomly selecetd form 10 villages of selected block of Kanker district. Data were collected with the help of structured interview schedule. classified, tabulated and interpreted in the light of objective of the present study. Majority of the rural youth participated in some sub-activities in all agricultural activities, especially 70 per cent were not participate in seed treatment, which redirects to a very big future crisis and positively, 67.14 per cent of the respondents have full participation in the care of agricultural implements. only 8.57 per cent has full participation in leveling. The study revealed that rural youth had a favorable attitude about participation in agricultural activities. Although the youth have desirable qualities that can promote agriculture, most of them have a strong apathy towards it. The participation of youth in many activities like sowing, water management and plant protection measures were found to be very keen, the participation of the rural youth was very low in some activities like inter-culture operation, sowing and storage.
