Techniques to Reduce the Back Lobe of Microstrip Slot Antenna

The paper reviews the back lobe reduction techniques in microstrip slot antenna.

Aperture coupled microstrip slot antenna is used which couples the patch antenna with microstripline through an aperture. To improve the radiation pattern, there are various techniques - using reflector plate, using cavity and by adjustment of the phase angle using the movement of the patch antenna on the slot i.e. by adjusting the SWR distribution. These all techniques summaries here to improve the main lobe with the reduced back lobe. It increases the front/Back ratio.
