Abstract

Blood flow in a stenosed artery has been modeled in the present studies. Blood flow has been taken as multiphase non-Newtonian Carreau-Yasuda model. Flow parameters such as inflow velocity in the artery segment, in stenosis zone and vorticity have been computed for diverse hematocrit numbers. Maximum velocity is located in lipid core zone, been greater as stenosis rate increases. Blood flow velocity decreases as hematocrit number increases its value.
