Abstract

This paper offers and endeavors to dissect the performance of Zero Cross Correlation (ZCC) code in Spectral amplitude coding optical code division multiple access (SAC OCDMA) system for SMF (Single mode fiber) and three dispersion compensating techniques (Pre-, Postand symmetrical). The system is designed for 5 users operating at a bit rate of 10GB/s. In doing so, the effect of distance on the performance of SAC OCDMA has been compared. The simulative investigation has been carried out in terms of important parameters like BER, Q-factor and eye diagrams. It has been observed from the comprehensive simulations that the system performance improves with symmetrical dispersion compensation scheme and for Optimum performance there should be a proper adjustment between EDFA gain and length of the fiber. Further the performance of system is enhanced using optical wireless channel (OWC).
