Effect of Similarity Measures on AGNES Based Hierarchical Clustering

The clustering is process of grouping objects based on some similarity measure. In hierarchical clustering, the objects can be clustered on the basis of single linkage, average linkage, median linkage or complete linkage. In this paper we have tried to analyze the effect of various similarity measures on AGNES, which is a hierarchical clustering algorithm. In the current paper, we have used single linkage, complete linkage, average linkage and median linkage as a similarity measure and their effect on the results of AGNES hierarchical clustering algorithm. For the implementation purpose, we have used JAVA programming language.
