Abstract

The aviation vehicles are facing aero heating problems. The hypersonic vehicle while flying generates strong bow shock at the nose which is responsible for aero heating problem; the problem can be solved in by using different spike configuration of vehicle design. This research work analyzing the pressure, Mach number over the body surface with predefined pressure condition 100 bar for with different spiked vehicles. Spike concept design replaces strong shockwave instead of weaker shocks at the nose and weaker shocks reduce the pressure at the body. It is found that with spike having circular yields better results than blunt spike vehicle. Model created in solid works, and meshing in Gambit 2.4.6 finally solution is by Fluent 6.3 solver.
