Abstract

How does technological innovation impact the performance in China? Given the increasingly salient role of business model, extant literature provides little answer to this question. This studybuild theoretical model based on technological innovation, business model design and contingency theory to investigate this issue. Thehypotheses are proposed based on the Chinese environment. This research points out that business model design has the mediating effect among the relationship between technological innovation and performance. More important, we regard that the transitional environment has the moderating effect between the relationship business model design and performance. This research contributes to both technological innovation and business model designliterature.
