Now a day's number of accident related with Arc flash increases every year as the growth in power sector, industrialization and infrastructure. The workman has to perform his maintenance work without disturbing power supply. It causes the serious injuries during the maintenance work, due to electrical arc faults. So that the study of arc flash analysis helps to consumer to reduce the hazard of arc flash incident as well as saves workman life form such incidents. This paper gives an overview of various steps of conducting arc flash assessment. It is done by computer software and empirical derived equations to determine incident energy with calculation method, which is provided in IEEE standard 1584–2002 and NFPA 70 E.
