The dried leaf of Taxus baccata Linn. commonly known as Zarnab. Zarnab is a important medicinal drug of herbal origin in unani system of medicine. The plant possesses many medicinal properties and it is an important component of some markated herbal formulations.
The main aspects included in the study are morphological characters, anatomical characters, powder analysis, physicochemical studies and thin layer chromatographic profile.
