The study carriedout during 2007 major Tsunami episode occurred, its affects damaged to coastal property as well as economically damaged to people's property. In this study has carried out to find out the coastal poverty location along the coast of Tirunelveli District of Tamilnadu. The parameters like gender, religion, family, occupation, house type, electricity, family members, education, total income, food expentiture, cloth expentiture, education expenditure, saving and debt information. The thematic GIS overlays of different layers were carried out to find out the coastal poverty location. The final results show the level and magnitude of poverty level is noticed. The GIS based analysis of socioeconomic data is significant to understand society as well as country economic development.
