Abstract

Now a days concrete has become omnipresent all over the world. In the view of environmental problems facing currently we should consider the reduction in availability of natural resources like sand. Hence this paper investigates the utilization of waste materials like ground granulated blast furnace slag sand (GGBFSS) with the partial replacement of natural sand. This paper investigates the behavior of selfcompacted concrete with replacement of GGBFSS with natural sand by 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Mechanical properties like compressive strength and split tensile strength are tested for cubes and cylinders respectively. Structural properties like buckling behavior is tested for structural element (reinforced concrete column).
