The main objective of the study is to identify the drivers’ risk taking behaviour and seeks to determine its association with road accidents. The data of the study has been obtained through self-administrated questionnaire with a sample of 256 drivers from Panipat (Haryana). Five factors defining the drivers’ risk taking behaviour towards road accidents have been used in the study. Descriptive research design has been used in the study with the purpose of describing drivers’ risk taking behaviour towards road accidents. The study has observed significant difference between male and female drivers’ risk perception & attitude regarding enforcement of laws, and insignificant difference regarding non-non driving activities, traffic rules and carelessness. The study is also found significant difference among drivers who having experience below 5 years, 5 to 10 years and above 10 years regarding risk perception, enforcement of laws and carelessness, and insignificant difference with non-driving activities and traffic rules.
