Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a computing phenomenon that extends internet interactivity beyond traditional devices like desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets to a diverse range of devices, machines, everyday objects and everyday things that utilize embedded technology to communicate and interact with the external environment, all via the internet. IoT provides innovative services, new sources of revenue that gives better efficiency and productivity.

This thesis work presents an implementable IoT structural system model described as layered architecture, technological challenges related to the structure and future research areas in the domain of IoT.
