Methodologies for Pattern Discovery from Web Transactions: A Comprehensive Review

Web usage Mining is an area of interest for researchers from last one decade. Web mining deals with the extraction of interesting knowledge from different types of web logs. Despite the importance of data mining techniques there is a lack of a comprehensive literature review. Different techniques have been used in different steps of web usage mining: from data preprocessing, session and user identification to pattern discovery and visualization of mined pattern. In this paper we tried to review comprehensively all the techniques used in different steps of web usage mining. This comprehensive literature review can serve the researchers in this field as repository of references.
