This article is being written to bring out the extent of awareness and effects of health practices. A revised National Health Policy addressing the prevailing inequalities, and working towards promoting a long-term perspective plan, mainly for rural health, is imperative. To eradicate the prevailing social and health related problems, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has setup a wing to provide information and create awareness among the public. The wing is actively functioning in the country with the marketing concept called social marketing. In Sivaganga district, the public opinion about health awareness, most influencing activities and effects of health practices has been analysed and the outcomes are given in this research paper.
