Abstract

Mobile Ad hoc Network is a collection of mobile nodes forming an ad hoc network without the assistance of any centralized structures or administration. To know which protocol is better than the other in case of energy consumption, six routing protocols such as Dynamic source routing protocol (DSR), Destination sequenced distance vector routing protocol (DSDV), Temporarily ordered routing algorithm (TORA), Ad-Hoc on-demand distance vector routing protocol (AODV), Zone routing protocol (ZRP), were implemented in the mobility model of manet. The experiment built upon mobility model shows that TORA consumes more energy and while DSDV, DSR, AODV consumes low energy. In this paper, Network Simulator 2 tool has been employed.
