Abstract

Ni-20Cr +Y coating was deposited on a SA 210 specimen by the detonation gun spraying. By means of FESEM with EDS and high temperature oxidation behavior of the coating and uncoated SA 210 specimen at 900° C in air were studied. Oxidation rate was also determined by weight change/area and number of cycles plot. The results showed that detonation gun sprayed Ni-20Cr +Y coating held a favorable oxidation resistance.
