Abstract

This paper presents various Random PWM techniques for two level three phase inverter fed induction motor drive. The pulse width modulation (PWM) based induction motor drives often produces objectionable acoustic noise apart from harmonic distortion. The proposed modulation techniques concentrate to reduce total harmonic distortion of induction motor stator current used in certain applications such as electric propulsion for the drivers and passengers. In this paper the feasibility of the proposed PWM techniques along with theoretical basis for control strategy are presented for a three phase induction motor drive and the simulation results will effectively proves the reduction of harmonic content compared to conventional SVPWM techniques.
