Abstract

High performance concrete is a concrete in which certain characteristics are developed for a particular application and environment. In other words, concrete which provides increased durability under severe climatic conditions, along with other enhanced mechanical properties are high performance concrete. HPC's contains combinations of materials such as fly ash, silica fume, ground granulated slags etc individually or in various combinations. Use of HPC is increasing due to its availability, greater performance, durability and efficient use of Portland cement, which conserves natural resources and energy. This paper analyses the compressive strength and durability of the high performance concrete. It is experimented using various mineral mixtures and tested under different curing conditions.
