Abstract

In this paper, we have consider different load condition of India country (Residential, Industrial and Agriculture) according to their climate (Monsoon, winter and summer). From this daily load curve we have obtained the best reconfiguration hours during various types of season. Based on this best reconfiguration Hours we have find out the switches that should participate in switch upgrade plan. Then, genetic algorithm (GA) is used to obtain the optimum configuration during each time interval. From this the location of the switches has been found out. Then as we know distribution system is the system of an overall power system which links the bulk system to the individual customers, hence the switches that contribute to reconfiguration should be remotely controlled in order to have the capability of immediate mode alteration, hence for that analysis reliability assessment and evaluation is done. Here we have represented the Newton Raphson method for power flow analysis which is computationally attractive and give conservative estimates of loss reduction. Thus it also improves Reliability of the system. Test result are included to show the performance of the method.
