This paper presents ZVS and ZCS based DC-DC converter fed dc motor drive. Speed of separately excited dc motor is controlled by using armature voltage control method, in which the armature voltage is the converter output voltage. The terminal voltage of a separately excited motor is controlled by varying the duty ratio of switches in the inverter circuit at the primary side of the transformer. The performance characteristics of separately excited dc motor are verified using MATLAB Simulink.
