Abstract

The major share of the country's exports was accounted for by engineering goods. Major markets for Indian engineering exports are China, US, UAE, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Germany, Sri Lanka and UK. There was immense scope for promoting all these areas. The engineering industry in India manufactures a wide range of products, with heavy engineering goods accounting for bulk of the production. Most of the leading players are engaged in the production of heavy engineering goods and mainly produce high-value products using highend technology. Requirement of high level of capital investment poses as a major entry barrier. The major engineering goods which are exported from India include Iron and Steel, Manufacture of metals, Machinery and Instruments, Transport Equipments, Electronic goods and etc. The researcher surveyed to identify the products exported by sample exporters.
