Abstract

Cascade control is the family of control loop makes the explicit use of model to obtain advance control signal. The reason for its popularity in industry and academia is its capability of noise rejection. There is various type of cascade control based on cascade control tuning method. This paper provides a review of the most commonly used methods of Cascade controller tuning. The most widely used strategies based on closed loop step responses, self-tuning of fuzzy logic controller in cascade control, auto tuning of cascade control system using the multiple integration method, robust analysis and PID tuning of cascade control system, PID controller tuning of cascade control system by a simple relay feedback test and auto tunning of parallel cascade control using set point relay have been described with basic idea, properties and their controller formulation and tuning.
