Abstract

In this paper, the Smart-Grid model has been designed using MATLAB/SIMULINK, an approach for interconnection of conventional and distributed generation. The smart grid is regarded as the next generation power grid, uses two way flow of electricity and information to create a widely distributed automated energy delivery network. This paper presents a simple model for the proposed interconnection work using conventional generation and distributed generation. At each busbar and load locations the active power and voltage levels are monitored with and without interconnection of the sources. The Active powers and reactive powers are varied to observe the variations on the power and voltages of the systems. In this analysis the capacitive loads are kept constant. Simulation results are tabulated to show the effectiveness of the stability of the system.
