Abstract

Electricity demand is dominant all over the world now and energy management becomes very complex. This paper aims to design energy efficient lighting in class room by using different light sources like T8, T5 and LED tube as well as maintained standard illuminance level as per IS 3646. Uniformity factor is also considered for good lighting design. A class room model is created in Dialux 4.12 using CAD window and is illuminated with T8, T5 and LED tube. By using three types of sources it is observed that LED tube is most energy efficient lighting source than other two sources.
