Abstract

Learning is the process of updating the current knowledge with newly acquired information, in the light of recent experiences. This change is reflected in processing different types of information leading to better decision making. We shall focus here on how learning process can help in finding the right word by dictionary search in the context based algorithm and how by each use of the algorithm, a better skill can be displayed in performing the dictionary search. We shall discuss the data structures, Meta knowledge and knowledge used and how this knowledge can be updated, how dictionary can be updated, to generate a powerful source of expert knowledge, to refine an efficient search process.

In the present work, the learning aspects of a context based search engine are explained, which are applied to a specific field of lyric writing in Telugu literature. In lyric writing, selecting right words based on context is very important. The words selected should be suitable to the context, have the right meaning and sound appropriate to match the rhyme. A number of restrictions and rules need to be applied, for this piece of literary work, in order to meet the expectations of poetics and grammar, syntax and semantic checking communities. This makes the lyric suitable for composing music and a sweet song. The key steps in this process include-Parsing, building a lexicon, syntactic analysis, with the help of predefined rule base, determine the grammar. So, a detailed knowledge based decision making is involved in selecting the right word for a given context. This knowledge can be transferred to the knowledge base so that, when a similar situation is encountered in future searches, the decision-making process becomes elegant and fast. This is the process of learning, which is very crucial to improve the performance of system, as different levels of experts use the system. We shall discuss these in detail, where all the learning process is applied in this context based search algorithm.
