Assistant Professor,
The result of reaction between Ferrous Sulphate and Ceric Sulphate are summarized below:
(1) The reaction is first order with respect to Ce(IV) and first order with respect to Ferrous Fumarate.
(2) The overall order of the reaction is two.
(3) The reaction is appreciably catalysed by Cu2+, Zn2+, Fe2+ and Mn2+ But the activity of Cu2+ is greater than rest of all metal ions.
(4) The specific rate is linearly related to the concentration of Cu2+ and is governed by the equation K= K0 + Conc Cu2+
(5) The final product is identified to be Ferric Fumarate.
