The turbocharger is used to charge boosting in IC engines specifically at higher load. Proper selection of a turbocharger is insisted because the random selection may not meet the engine breathing requirement. The surge or chock occurs in the charge flow and ultimately give worse performance than self breathing engines. Many methods are adapted for turbo-matching but still the perfect matching is a tedious task. This research focuses on matching the turbocharger to the engine by simulation and data-logger method with the objective of to find the matching appropriateness of turbochargers with trim 68 (B60J68), trim 70 (A58N70) and trim 72 (A58N72) for the TATA 497 TCIC-BS III engine. In the data-logger method the road conditions like the rough road, highway, city Drive, slope up and Slope down were considered. With the help of compressor map the matching appropriateness evaluated, suggested the best match and alternate possibilities.
