Abstract

Fisheries are an important sector of Kerala along with agriculture. It provides employment opportunities to number of people in primary and secondary sectors. The paper mainly concentrates on the women fish vendors of Kerala. They are the main bread winners of the family. The main problem faced by them is the lack of credit and improper utilisation of the same. The main source of credit for them is the informal sectors and only very few are dependent on the formal sectors. The SHG is the main source fund for these people for meeting the emergency requirement.
