Present study witnessed the occurrence of new species known as Rorippa indica from solan districts of Himchal Pradesh. The species have been first time reported from the region inspite of number of floristic studies carried out by various workers in the study area from time to time. During our floristic studies, plants of this species have been spotted growing on hill sides, moist places, boundering cultivated fields at an altitude of 1250 m in Nauni area of districts Solan. Discovery of its plants in the study area indicates either further colonization of the species in newer regions hither to unknown or may be a case of oversight by earlier workers which is unlikely. Apart from furthering our knowledge regarding the floristic composition of the study area and extension of distribution area of this species, its discovery opens up a new possibilities of exploring the potential of this species as aphid tolerant.
