Abstract

We are living in a world of catastrophe characterized by terrorism, violence, insecurity and stress. This is the outcome of the materialistic world filled with corruption, cut throat competition, survival of the fittest and so on and so forth. Globally, there is a need to practice and develop emotional and spiritual intelligence which will succeed in enabling oneself to understand each other's point of view, learn to negotiate things, instil a quality of leadership and learn to be open-minded.

Our education today should aim at guiding the child in attainment of the above stated virtues. Teachers can act as an important agent to fulfil the needs of the child and can teach them to navigate the depths of emotions. When the child acquires these virtues, we are sure to attain universal brotherhood and thus universal peace and their world will be a better place to live in.
