Mechanisation of harvesting is crucial for ensuring cost effectiveness of sugarcane cultivation. Detrashing is the removal of leaves and top from harvested cane stalk. The operating parameters of a high speed rotating brush type de-trashing mechanism were investigated so as to aid the development of a combine harvester.
