Abstract

Accurate gas flow measurement is an inevitable activity of Natural Gas (NG) Distribution Company as it is directly linked with the revenue of the company. Means to realize this flow measurement are gas flow meters installed at the customer premises. Traditional way of selection of gas flow meters is primarily based on the product specifications, fluid type to be measured and cost. The paper attempts to develop a method for selection of rotary positive displacement meters that along with meeting the traditional selection method also considers performance and cost of the meters using analytical hierarchy process which is a multi-criteria decision analysis technique.
