Abstract

Many hazardous heavy metals are released into the environment by industrial technological activities into the food chain which become a serious threat to the environment. Lead is a common industrial metal that fmds uses in storage batteries, gasoline additives and ammunition etc. and causes severe health effects even at relatively low levels in the body, including irreversible brain damage and injury to blood forming systems. In this paper, rigid biosorbents for the removal of lead has been identified and modeling of the sorption and desorption process is done with intelligent neuro-fuzzy system.
