The quality of the soil of the Beel can contribute a lot to the aquatic animals, plants as well as to the human being. Degradation of the quality of the soil of the beel may affect the aquatic animals, plants and humans as well. In the present study, 20 samples of soil were collected from 20 sampling stations of the beel during Monsoon and post-monsoon season. The relevant parameters such as pH, electrical conductance, Chloride, sodium, potassium and heavy metals (Fe, Cu, Ni, Cr) were analyzed for soil samples by various standard methods. During the course of the study periods, fluctuation in the various parameters was observed. The variation in the values of various parameters may be due to unequal distribution of different chemicals.
