Abstract

The morphometric characteristics of the Ornate eagle ray Aetomylaeus vespertilio (Bleeker, 1852) are described for the first time from the Indian waters. The specimen was collected at Cochin in April, 2011.The mature male specimen measured 180 cm in total length, 195 cm in body width and weighed 4.4 kg.
