Abstract

Lipases find a wide industrial application for the past two decades. The isolation of lipase by sources such as plants and animals are cost effective and the yield is also very less. So studies have been started to analyze the production of the enzyme from microbial sources that can be easily isolated from soil, water etc. The fungal strains are preferred for lipase production since their enzyme is secreted extracellularly and the extraction technique becomes easy. This study was performed to analyze the inducer types and their concentration at which there is a maximum lipase production. It was concluded that the concentration of the inducers used for the study did not affect the production of lipase. Lipase enzyme activity was also detected by Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) method. The result was also confirmed by statistical analysis.
