Abstract

This study was carried out to evaluate the river water quality in Hua County with comprehensive water quality identification index (CWQII). The results indicates that the river water quality of Weihe River gradually worsen down-gradient, the water quality of Yuxian River met the standard of water environment functional zone, the water quality of Luowen River was worse than Yuxian River, the water quality of the Shidi River exceeded the standard limit and was the worst among the three tributaries. Nitrogen is the greatest factor influencing the water quality. CWQII is simple in concept, and can provide all information about water quality classification and the water quality status.
