The assessment of water quality is very important for knowing its suitability for various purposes. The present study was carried to evaluate the groundwater quality in and around Thiruvallur District. Water samples were collected from 12 different regions of Thiruvallur town and analyzed various physico-chemical parameters. The results showed that many of the water quality parameters from residential areas above the permissible limits of BIS and WHO.
