Abstract

Groundwater is the main source of drinking water in Hadhramout and Yemen in general. It is one of the most important and basic natural resources. This study is focusing on estimating Chloride of the groundwater in Ash-Shihr and its Outskirts, Yemen using multiple regression analysis. The new multiple linear regression equation has been derived and used for predicting the Chloride of groundwater. Variables in the current study consist of one dependent variable Chloride and six independent variables as chemical and physical parameters, namely, Total alkalinity, Nitrate Fluoride, Magnesium, Total dissolved solids, and Electrical conductivity. Results showed that the best-fitted equation to estimate of the groundwater in Ash-Shihr relates to Total alkalinity and Electrical conductivity with adjusted coefficient of determination, and standard error of estimation.
