Medicolegal case is any medical case with legal implications. This study was aimed to know the profile of medicolegal cases registered at the casualty of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar medical college, Benaluru, Karnataka. This study was conducted from January 2015 to June 2015. A total of 819 medicolegal cases were studied and analyzed. We found that males were involved in 68.74% cases and females in 31.25% cases and the male to female gender ratio was 2.19: 1. Common indications for registering medicolegal case were assault (50.3%), poisoning (18.43%), Road traffic accident (RTA-12.33%), medical check-up of accused (6.83%) and drunkenness certification (6.22%). The commonly used weapon for assault was hard and blunt weapons (63.83%). Victims riding two wheelers accounted for 51.48% of RTA. Most common manner of poisoning was suicidal (83.44%).
