We report the synthesis of some aryl thiourea derivatives (1and 2) produced through the reaction of aniline derivatives with CS2 in absolute ethanol. These derivatives were condensed with dimethylmalonate or azo derivatives using THF as solvent to obtain thiobarbituric acid derivatives (3 and 4, 11–16). The later compounds (3and4) were reacted with different aldehydes to produce a new series of thiobarbituric derivatives (5–10). The species thus synthesized were characterized using different analytical techniques such as IR and 1HNMR spectroscopies.
