Motivation is the basic drive that moves a person to behave. The role of the family is needed when the emergence of health problems in other family members. When one of the family members suffers from a health problem, one or more other family members act as caregivers. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of family motivation to improve family service in children with cerebral palsy. Subjects were parents of children with cerebral palsy who were educated at the Makassar Disabled Children Education Foundation (YPAC) who were willing to be the subject of this study, which numbered 19 participated. In the Chi-square test showed a significant correlation between education and occupational factors on physical needs, emotional needs and mental stimulation that was p <0.05, while the income factor showed a non-significant relationship to physical needs, emotional needs and mental stimulation that was p> 0.05. The education and occupational factors have a significant relationship to the role of family motivation on improving the service of families of cerebral palsy children at YPAC Makassar.
