Forensic odontology helps in the age estimation (in children) by taking biological evidence from teeth in medico-legal matters. The person's identification is done by using dental radiographs, radiovisiography, ante-and post-mortem photographs and DNA analysis. Lately, the use of software technology has become a mandatory part of forensic odontology. There are several studies done worldwide, where these software technologies have helped in getting conclusive and accurate results. This article highlights the use of digital technologies which are currently in use in the field of forensic dentistry.
