Abstract

Age estimation is important in identification of an individual. Teeth and bones are commonly used for determination of age, due to their resistance to destruction. The importance of evaluating skeletal maturation using hand wrist radiograph was long recognized. Only few studies had been carried out to suggesting the usefulness of cervical vertebra in lateral cephalometric radiograph for age estimation.

The present study was undertaken to correlate the chronological age, with the age determined by dental, skeletal and vertebral maturation to provide information in assessing the age using cervical vertebrae.
