Role of dentist in identification in mass disaster

Personal identification is always a major task in any mass disaster event including natural, accidental or criminal. Identification can be done by visual, fingerprint, dental and DNA evidence. A disaster identification team should be set up to handle the problems and plan for the future. Advances in photographic, radiographic, and computer technology have provided the forensic dental team with additional resources to enable recovery, docu-mentation, storage, and comparison of forensic dental evidence.
