Abstract

140 children were examined for the presence of Dental Bulge (DB) out of the 140 children 35 had the DB on palatal site of 1st molars.

There was strong co-relation between the presence of the DB and behavioural problems like aggressiveness, theft from home and school, poor academic performance, often got into fights both at school and at home.

It seems that out of the children that were born during the ethnic riots, those that had a DB on palatal site of their 1st permanent molar/s presented with problematic emotional and social behavioural patterns.

Hence, maternal stress during pregnancy has an impact both on dental anatomy and behavioural patterns of the child.
