Abstract

The present study was conducted in Jalgaon and Dhule districts of North Maharashtra with a random sample of 175 Bt cotton growers to measure the level of knowledge of cultivation practices of Bt cotton of the growers, to understand the relationship among selected socio-economic, psychological and communication characteristics of Bt cotton growers and their knowledge. The results indicated that majority of the respondents had medium (61.14%) level of knowledge of cultivation practices of Bt cotton. The analysis of correlation revealed that variables like education, area under Bt cotton, annual income, socio-economic status, social participation, scientific orientation, cosmopoliteness and extension contact had positive and significant influence on the level of knowledge of the growers.
